„gelebte Solidarität“ Bauer krank, das Dorf hilft, Rai Tagesschau 24.02.2025
A farmer in Val di Non falls ill during the tree-cutting season of all times. Neighbours, friends and even the fire brigade step in. A major solidarity campaign is causing a stir in the municipality of Casez in Val di Non. A farmer there had fallen ill and was unable to prune his orchards. This is essential for the subsequent harvest: if the trees are not pruned, the apple harvest will be much smaller. Because there was a threat that the man’s fields would no longer be cultivated, neighbouring farmers, friends and even the local fire brigade stepped in. Around 50 people from the village have therefore been working for days to ensure that the fruit trees are pruned and that the man does not suffer a crop failure in autumn. ‘This is solidarity in action,’ explain Paolo Pellizzari and Fabrizio Zadra in an article by TGR Trento. Solidarity that also needs to be celebrated: At the end of the day, a toast is raised in the local fire station to the joint efforts and a speedy recovery of the farmer.
