Brain Aiging

the decoding of an agering brain

Munich, September, 03.2024. Agering near bodify breakup is also a complex biology process for the brain. The aging of brain is a consequence through shifting diversity of celltyps with differenly Gen-Activitys. Results of researches could supporting by accelerated agering of the brain. But also counteract by neurodegenerative Illnes like demenz or alzheimer.

Every cells underlies an process of agering. This ageringprocess is in correlation with an Gen-Activity. The brain is a togetherness of diversity types of cells with respectively particularily Proposes, functionalitys and nexuses. All together makes complex calculations by the brain.
It was important for the developers from Max-Planck-Institut for Psychatry, to experienced how the diversity of Gen-activitys in the diversity celltyps by the brain of the way in agering are shifting. It was needed 90 brains from humans in the age between 25 up to 85 years, and they approval the brains after they passing to extract histoid.

„We were able to show that gene expression changes in all cell types during the course of ageing, but not necessarily in the same genes,“ says study leader Anna Fröhlich, summarising the results. It was also shown that the activity of genes that are important for synaptic transmission changes with ageing in all cell types. Synaptic transmission concerns the communication between neurones.

According to previous research, age is the greatest risk factor for neurodegenerative diseases. The researchers compared the differences between age-related changes in the gene expression of ‘healthy’ people with those of people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. They found extensive overlaps in certain cell types.

The gene expression age of people with psychiatric illness accelerated. They were biologically older. This provided evidence for the possibility that the activity of some genes changes not only with age, but also as a result of mental illness. This is a possible explanation for why people with psychiatric illnesses such as schizophrenia could be particularly susceptible to pathological brain ageing processes, as the scientists were able to further demonstrate.
